Finding Quality Link Partners using 123LinksManager

Here are the basics you need to know about link management

First you'll need to search for a keyword that you'd like to be number one for.

Example: 'Gift Ideas'

I typed this into Yahoo today and found site: findgift.com in the #1 spot on Yahoo. How did they get there? Well obviously someone is linking to them, correct but which sites are making this site number one?

Next search Google or Yahoo and locate all the backwards link referrals to this site. Yahoo and Alltheweb.com will post just about all the backwards link results where Google will only list a small percentage. Search on Yahoo with: link:http://www.findgift.com/ and you'll see all the sites linking to findgift.com

I would recommend downloading the Google Toolbar to help out in your link quest. After downloading and installing the Google Toolbar, go into properties, under 'information' and make sure you enable the Google page rank display and page info display.

Please read article on Identifying Good Link Partners when you go after quality links.

At this point just solicit each site one at a time by using the software. You'll have to look for each sites link exchange page and add them to your site first. Normally you'll notice a link in the footer of the site called anything from directory, resources, links, and partners to references etc.

Most of the time the site will have either a form page or an email link to post link requests directly. If they have a form page and no email just locate a generic email and post that within the software when adding the site to your links directory.

Use the 123LinksManger Software and add the new site. First click on the top 'LINKS' menu button to view all links and then click on the link called add at the bottom of the page. You'll notice fields called:

  • Site Name: This is the Title of the link you're adding to your directory.
  • Site URL: This is the sites URL or link your linking to.
  • Reciprocal URL: This is where you'd like to be placed. Locate the page you'd like to be on and paste the url here.
  • Description: This is the Description of the sites link.
  • Category: This is the category you think you link partner would best fit.
  • One Way Link: If you choose Yes, then this link will not post to the site, but the software will still validate the link and make sure the site is linking to you. This is useful for one way links, paid links, free sites like DMOZ and when trading multiple links for one.
  • Email: This is the email of your link partner.

You can send multiple emails at once to all your link partners if you wish. So, after you have added your new link partners, use the email templates within 123LinksManger and let them know. First, check the box next to the sites you've just added and send an email by clicking on the email link from the software at the bottom of the page, or use the quck links drop down (coming soon). You'll come to the email templates page and you'll see at the top a radio button called 'Link Exchange Proposal' Just hit send and you've just sent off a link exchange request.

The email templates will have dynamic variables that will automatically be inputted into the email so you will not have to fuss with copy and pasting your link partner's information into an email each time. You've already added it to your site so why do it twice. To see how this works, add your site into your directory and send your self a few test emails using all of the template examples.

The whole idea after locating good quality industry related sites is to first add the link partner and let them know through email politely that you've added them to your directory. After about two weeks, give the sites a friendly reminder and if they still don't add you just let them know your deleting them and either delete them or choose to not show the link on site and wait. Remember site owners and webmasters are very busy individuals and have a life too. Sometimes after a month or two the site owner will finally sift through all their link requests and will notice your link exchange proposal and will contact you then. So, it's good to keep the link around for at least 30 days.
